RusHydro says launches Nizhne-Bureiskaya hydropower plant
BLAGOVESHCHENSK, Sep 9 (PRIME) -- Hydropower giant RusHydro has put the Nizhne-Bureiskaya dam – Russia’s largest hydropower plant – into operation, a company spokesperson told PRIME on September 7.
“The Nizhne-Bureiskaya hydropower plant was put into operation, the plant has reached its projected capacity of 320 megawatts (MW),” the spokesperson said.
The average annual power output of the Nizhne-Bureiskaya dam will amount to 1.67 billion kilowatt-hours. The plant is a second facility of the Bureisky hydropower plant cascade. It acts as a counter-regulator to the Bureiskaya hydropower plant allowing it to work without restrictions.
